This dressing is also oil-free. Yes, we need healthy fats, but I now prefer to consume them in form of whole foods- avocados, moderate amounts of seeds and nuts, etc. Oil isn’t a whole food- it’s processed and the fiber of the whole food is stripped out, even if the oil is unrefined and cold-pressed.

Oil-Free Basil Lover’s Dressing Recipe
 
Makes 1 cup

Ingredients
  • 1 ½ Tbs. apple cider vinegar
  • ¼ cup cold, filtered water
  • 3 Tbs low-sodium tamari
  • ½ tsp sea salt
  • 2 Tbs. lemon juice
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 cup fresh basil
  • 2 Tbs. nutritional yeast
  • ¼ tsp of stevia (I like the NuNaturals brand)
Instructions
  1. Blend all ingredients together until smooth. This dressing is best served fresh.
