This week we are sharing Kady’s story! Thank you Kady for sharing your experiences on your Beauty Detox journey. I was so happy to hear you found out about my Beauty Detox Principles while at an airport bookshop! It is amazing to hear how  The Beauty Detox Solution and The Beauty Detox Foods really changed your perspective on food and is truly helping you feel better daily!  It is wonderful to hear you are now feeling more energized, balanced and your anxiety and acne have improved! Now let’s meet the awesome Kady…

How long have you been following the Beauty Detox philosophy? Was it easy to incorporate it into your lifestyle?

I have been incorporating the Beauty Detox Lifestyle for 2 years now. I began when I bought Beauty Detox Foods in the airport in Sydney traveling home to visit my family in Ireland. I did not put the book down the whole way and got no sleep on the entire flight as I was so hooked and had to finish the entire thing before I could put it down!

It all just made so much sense to me and it was like switching on a light, I instantly had a new outlook on food! From that day, I made The Glowing Green Smoothie™ my daily breakfast and from there added more aspects like salads with every meal. For me, it was a natural transition and I only wished I had discovered it sooner!

I felt like I had so much energy, at work I didn’t need my daily coffee anymore and genuinely got a buzz of energy from my Glowing Green Smoothie™! I feel amazing and haven’t looked back since.

What is your daily regimen? Give us an example of a typical meal plan and exercise routines.

Every morning, I start with my lemon water and a probiotic. I follow this with a Glowing Green Smoothie™ I started to but all my groceries at a local farmers market in Sydney and so my meals consist of whatever in fresh, local and seasonal!
I bring a salad to lunch every day and make some beauty pate or have an Open-Faced Beauty Avo sandwich, which I love!
I find I don’t need to do half as much exercise to stay in shape so I do yoga which really helps me relax and unwind and its so nice to be able to do this instead of needing to do vigorous training sessions which I did before, such as bootcamp or Pump!
Its like a breath of fresh air! I now eat when I’m hungry and real food and am a lot more in tune with my body.

How do you feel after adopting the Beauty Detox lifestyle? What changes have you experienced?

I used to have really bad skin, anxiety (probably overloaded with coffee) and even though I was a ‘vegetarian’, looking back- I hardly ate any vegetables!! I couldn’t be further from this today. From reading the Beauty Detox books, I have educated myself on food choices.
Before, I used to eat a cereal bar from the supermarket every day as a snack which I genuinely thought was a healthy choice! Looking back, this was actually overloaded with sugar and so unnatural. I feel so grateful that I now have the knowledge to decipher through the rows of a supermarket and not be fooled into making bad choices. Thanks to the books and Kimberly, I know what my body needs to be healthy and I make sure I base all my food choices on this today to get optimal nutrition and have optimal digestion.
My skin has never looked healthier and I feel a lot calmer and in tune with my body. Im so happy I found a book that tells you exactly what you need to know and it has impacted my health hugely. I also had so much energy that I completed my very fist half marathon this year! I found preparing for it was easy as I had so much energy from my Beauty Detox diet!

How has this impacted your outlook on life?

I now have so much more time to relax and unwind with yoga as I eat well as I don’t need a strict training schedule. I can relax and enjoy my food and know I am making the best decisions for my health and my body and I am ensuring I am protecting myself as best I can from modern diseases and health issues.
I don’t have to weigh myself or count calories because I know I am balanced and my body is at its natural wight and this rarely fluctuated now even if I do eat more some days than others.
I feel so much more confident because my skin has cleared up and I have so much energy which feels truly amazing.

What is your favorite recipe and why?

Definitely The Glowing Green Smoothie™ as this is now integral in my diet. I also love the Ananda Burrito. But I have so much fun coming up with my own recipes too now!  I have a food blog (www.fullupeating.com/healthyrecipes) and since starting the  Beauty Detox Lifestyle, I have developed a whole new ‘Healthy’ section for recipes that are gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and sugar free. I love having fun with healthy food and always changing it up! Thank you for the inspiration Kimberly!

What words of encouragement do you have for others in the Beauty Detox Community?

 I would have to say ‘Don’t knock it until you try it’. I was very skeptical at first of whether I would like the taste of  The Glowing Green Smoothie™ for breakfast but then I tried it and it is delicious! Now I cannot get enough of it! If you start with this and slowly make other modifications you will be feeling so amazing that you won’t want to revert back to your old habits of eating.
Another thing I found really helpful was to remember: If you slip up and eat something unhealthy, don’t just give up for the rest of the day and have an all or nothing attitude. Accept you have made a mistake, move on and try your best to make up for it with your other meals! You can’t beat yourself up, just try the best you can slowly but surely.
