I remember when I had my first white peach. It wasn’t that long ago, to be honest! Sure I had tons of yellow peaches in my childhood, from the local markets. But it wasn’t until I happened to be at the Union Square farmer’s market in NYC after a yoga class with a fellow yogi, and he said, “Have you ever tried a white peach? They are amazing!” And proceeded to buy me one. Since then…I’ve been hooked.
My Sweet White Peach Pie Smoothie Recipe is the next best thing to peach pie, without all the added sugars and fillers..and gluten-filled/ie bloating crust. Get ready for amazingness!!
Beauty Fruit: White Peaches
White peaches have a clean, super fresh taste that is different than other peaches. And they aren’t just delicious- they are beauty foods.
Peaches help in maintaining healthy skin, bones, and teeth care. Their anti-aging properties also help in detoxification, as well as improving digestion and cellular health. They have loads of essential nutrients and antioxidants which are valuable in general, and especially during pregnancy and help in strengthening our immune system.
Peaches maintain healthy skin because of the good amount of vitamin C (which also provides a defense against harmful free radicals and infections). They also provide protective effects on the skin against ultraviolet radiation.
Peaches maintain healthy digestion due to their alkaline content and fiber, which keeps things flowing along and not stagnating, preventing toxin buildup, which is critical to your whole body functioning at its best and feeling your best.
Peaches are so juicy and a great versatile summer fruit that will keep us hydrated, regular, and beautiful, from the inside out! All peaches are great, but try the white ones when you spot them- as they are truly special!
Other Beauty Ingredients:
Lemons provide us with a great deal of vitamin C- one of the most regenerative antioxidants to help abate inflammation and various forms of aging in the body, and keep our cells vibrant and healthy.
Vitamin C is also important for keeping our immunity and energy vibrant and strong—protecting us against colds and the flu.
What I love about lemons is their ability to boost the liver’s function and tissue regeneration (helpful while cleansing, due to our liver being our main detoxifying organ).
Be happy to know that we are aiding and protecting our body’s with lemons amazing healing properties. And if you’ve never seen me use Meyer lemons and wondered how they are different from your typical lemons, then you may want to click here to see why I absolutely love them, and why you should give them a try whenever you can get your hands on them!
Cinnamon can actually help you achieve your weight loss goals—boosting your metabolism. This spice also cures sugar cravings in-between meals, and controls blood sugar levels and off-shooting fat levels.
Cinnamon is a great spice to add to your smoothies and beauty desserts, and can be sprinkled some in warm almond milk, like my Almost Raw Vegan Vanilla Latte. You can also mix it with chia seeds and almond milk to make a yummy snack pudding (for some other tips on how to use this amazing spice).
Allspice is another one of those spices that has the ability to lower inflammation, and that’s because the active ingredients in the spice have chemical compounds that eliminate inflammation—really making it an ideal spice.
You hear me talk a lot about having a healthy gut and digestion, so you’ll be happy to know that allspice has the power to soothe the stomach and really facilitating healthy digestion.
There is eugenol found in allspice which aids in eliminating digestive issues like constipation, while stimulating regularity—reducing bloating and excess flatulence in the process (YAY!!!). What’s pretty great about allspice is that the anti-inflammatory aspect can even ease cramps, which will then ease the entire process of digestion.
Now I say it’s time to head to your local farmers market and get this recipe going! ;)
