Hey Beauties. Today I want to talk about some tips for combating dry hair, especially now that the cold months are coming upon us and winter is coming. First, I want to talk a little bit topically. One of the most important, or if not the most important way to really nourish our hair topically is our own natural oil.

It’s really important that we brush our hair a couple times a week, I’d say at least three times a week, just to distribute the oil from our scalp all the way down to the bottom of our hair, especially if we’re trying to grow long hair. I know a lot of you have written in and told me about having an oily scalp, but if the oil is accumulating here, it’s not able to get to the strands, to the ends of your hair, and the whole bottom half of your hair may feel dry over time. You want to make sure that you brush your hair before you go to bed, again, maybe three times a week just to help that oil come down.

Then, in the morning what I do, because my hair gets frizzy when I brush it, is I just wet it a little bit and the curl comes back. Brushing it has really helped my hair be more moisturized all the way through. That’s the beauty of Mother Nature and all these amazing natural moisturizers that she’s provided for us throughout our body, and especially from our hair follicle all the way down is that natural sebum, that natural oil that will moisturize our hair.

Also, now is a great time to add some more treatments. Coconut oil and avocado oil are really fantastic for just giving your hair a little bit of extra moisture. You can put some on your hair, and what I like to do is wrap it up. I put a shower cap on or a towel and I sit for an hour, and then I rinse it off really well, and then I shampoo as usual. That’s something you can try doing once a week or so, when you find your hair starting to get really dry.

Now for building healthy hair from the inside of your body out. You want to make sure that your hair is getting the nutrients that it needs to be able to grow really healthy and really full. This is something I talk about a lot, but I just want to remind you guys again, gut health is really important, digestion is so important to hair health. All these parts of our body which seem so far away are actually all inter-related.

Here’s where SBO probiotics really help. In my personal journey, I had a lot of mucus in my system, I used to eat a lot of dairy, and my body was clogged. I had a lot of bloating, I had a lot of IBS, I had constipation, I had all kinds of issues. It really went hand in hand with my hair not being able to grow very long. I used to put it in a little bun in the back, and this went on for a long time.

When I started really paying attention to my gut health, it really did help nourish my hair. The SBO probiotics, I’m really passionate about them, you guys. I share them because I love them, I use them myself. You can get the information on the website, for the ones that I have provide for you, offer to you guys, because I think they’re really effective. That will just help to clear mucus, to help with nutrient absorption, just to make sure everything’s getting to your hair.

Then also, you guys can check out Beauty Detox Foods. There’s a lot of specific foods which are very nourishing to hair. I’ll list a few quickly here. Foods like bee pollen are fantastic. I put bee pollen in my Power Protein Smoothie, which has lots of antioxidants, it’s a complete protein, it has B vitamins, minerals, a great plant-based sources of protein. The Glowing Green Smoothie is very great for your hair because of all the natural vitamin C and beta carotene, which converts to vitamin A. All these amazing compounds that you need for your hair. Healthy fats like avocados and hemp seeds are also great for your hair!

If you feel like you’re traveling a lot or you’re stressed or you’re just not able to eat a really healthy diet, especially this time of year, it’s not a bad idea to take a whole food based multivitamin that has the full B vitamin spectrum intact, and that can also help with hair health. I hope these tips really help you guys. Lots more information here on the website, lots more blogs on hair health, and I’ll be continuing to talk about it for you guys!!

Sending all my love,
